Logs not rotated

Yes i know but it's the way I think... there's this file - cat it - and that's what I want from it... grep that.
Flows like that, kind of.
Maybe I should change that.

You could also write it <inputfile grep "string"

Wow. Never thought of that.
Looks kind of eccentric - but saves three characters compared to cat. Plus two for the pipe.

When it comes to saving screen space

About the actual topic:
Absent additional input I plan to comment out the test for run/systemd/system and observe the situation for some time.

You can manually run
Code:
logrotate -d /etc/logrotate.conf

and it tells what it would do - without doing anything.

What if I restart the machine? Being in the /run directory won't it be recreated as 'system' when the system comes up again?

"for a test" doesn't necessarily include a reboot...
