What commands can be used to replace crypt???

crypt is a command that is used to add more security to files.

now, this crypt command is used on systems (i dont know which) other that Linux RedHat

now, my question is that is there a command in Linux Red Hat similar to the crypt command???

i really want to have the files on my system extra extra extra secure. This crypt command has methods that can be used to lock down important files to the point that even certified hackers cant see its content.

now, theres goto be a similar command on Linux, anyone knows this???

My favorite is BCrypt, from http://www.jetico.com/

I've created several containers, and they can be moved around freely, as long as it's on a system where BCrypt is installed...
