hi,

when I try executing

ls -l|while read line
do
set "$line" ( not working if I say set $line with out double quote then it is working....
if [ $6 -eq 10 ]
then
....
fi
Any idea?

Hi,

you don't need set here.

Code:
while read 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
do
  echo $6
done < <(ls -l)

if you want to use set, try this:

while read line 
do 
  set -- $(echo $line) 
  echo $6
done < <(ls -l)

LC_ALL & LANG are set OK, but others couldn't set locale correctly.

Hi, I have a Solaris (SunOS 5.10) installed, by default with the en_AU.UTF-8 locale. I want to change it to en_US.UTF-8 With AU, I have no issues whatsoever, so I installed the language package and now locale -a shows "en_US.UTF-8".
