UNIX System Admin Document

Hi all
I am trying to document my entire system (hardware/software/admin) Is there a template I could use for the purpose. This document will be the used by all System admins/ Management the company when they want to find out anyting about any of the servers we manage.

If there is no such document, can anyone help me create a template?

Thanks

KS

In HP-UX ....

for users and groups:
Code:
#!/bin/ksh
echo "Relevando usuarios"
OS="`uname -s`"
server="`uname -n`"

if [ ! -d ./datos ]
then
    mkdir ./datos
    cod_ret=$?
    if [ $cod_ret -ne 0 ]
    then
        echo "ERROR: al crear el directorio ./datos"
    fi
fi

if [ ! -d ./datos/usuarios ]
then
    mkdir ./datos/usuarios
    cod_ret=$?
    if [ $cod_ret -ne 0 ]
    then
        echo "ERROR: al crear el directorio ./datos/usuarios"
    fi
fi

if [ -f ./datos/usuarios/"$server"_etc_passwd.txt ]
then
   rm -f ./datos/usuarios/"$server"_etc_passwd.txt

Re: Tools

I believe that there aren't any freeware common tool for this purpose, but ...
If the System is AIX look see the man page for the "snap" manual page.
(or run snap -a and the look into de ls -lR /tmp/ibms*)

If the System is Sun Solaris look for the SUNWexplo Package,

In HP-UX there are any tool of this type?
