Network SCO 5.0.2 on Dell 1500SC

I'm trying to load SCO Unix 5.0.2 on a Dell 1500SC server, without any success. First off, yes I know that 5.0.2 is an outdated version, and is not supported anymore, but that is what my company has directed me to do. The problem with the load appears to be the new chipset on the server, ServerWorks High End-SL (HE-SL). I can't come up with the proper driver or load and it hangs during the install when in the kernel build of .data. Any of you experience this, or have suggestions - short of getting a newer version of the OS. BTW, 5.0.5 loads w/o error when using a BTLD of AD160 driver - I have a test copy that I use for such cases. Thanks.

If they won't allow the newer OS then you have a couple of options (none of them good).

1. Downgrade the hardware - get hardware that is supported by the OS that you have to use.
2. Write your own driver - good luck.

Try getting SCO to support your postion of "it will never work" - once it isn't coming from you, sometimes management believes it. Show them that the OS they want was written so long ago that Pentium chips didn't exist (or whichever chip) and so the OS doesn't know what it is. Software makers can put in backwards compatiablity but not forward compatiablity.
