Return the last echo in remsh !!!!

Hi, I have a question:

the script A run in the HostA call the script B on the HostB:

ex.. ksh:B

.......
........
........ remsh HostB ec........

......
......

the prog.B on the host B make more function but the last command is echo of srting : ex

ksk script B

....
...
... echo $STRING
exit <---- ( or return )

i find rescue the value return of the script B ( the last echo )
in a variable in the shellA
es:

vareturn=$( remsh hostB shellb | read var ; echo $var )

but varreturn is empty .....

i try this :

but nof work...

i try this : (directly in the shell)

...
remsh hostb shellb | read Var ;echo $var
but $var is empty ???


It' possible rescue the last echo in the shellB in the shella before run the remsh ???
