Folks,
I am loosing X configurations once I restart the linux box. Same is true with ftp and telnet services. Any clues ? I am trying RedHat 7.2, it sucks btw !!

Try find svgalib and Xconfigurator package.
Try to reinstall them.
in RedHat : remove : rpm -e <package name without version>
install : rpm -iv <package file>

Alsom, the Configuration file that X uses when you startx is in
/etc/X11/XF86Config. Once you get a "stable" screen using Xconfigurator, save a copy of /etc/X11/XF86Config somewhere safe. That way you can "play" with Xconfigurator some more, and always get back to the "stable" settings by copying the saved file back to /etc/X11/XF86Config.

Well, it's not true to say it sucks unless you understand the OS properly.

What exactly do you mean by "loosing"? Do you mean you are losing your Xwindows prefs? Your windows don't look the same?

And what about FTP and Telnet? How are they being started? What changes?

You have to userstand it before you can use it correctly.

I had honest installation over good running 7.1. Things like X simply does not work. I have to configure X everytime I boot. The telnet and ftp services go down as soon as my monitor goes in power save mode.
RH 7.2, I find bad because I see these stupid problems even after a good smooth installation program from RH. Its not Linux I am complaining about, its RH 7.2.
