move files

Hi guys,

I have few files on my laptop. I am connected to a network called 'asx'(intranet). I have ssh2 and reflections on my system. I need to copy these few files from my system to a folder on the server(called 'CSSX').

Please can anyone explain me how to acheive this? I am new to UNIX and have no idea of how to move files here and there. If additional information is needed, please let me know.

It sounds like you are using a Windows laptop and are attempting to copy the files to a *nix server of some description.

Your best bet is to download pscp which comes as part of the PuTTY ssh client package (Google for "putty download").

Then you can just

pscp.exe path_to_source_files/* my_unix_username@unix_server:/path/to/destination

Make sure your UNIX user account has the appropriate permissions on the destination directory.

Cheers,
ZB

Hi Bob, I have ssh2 and Reflections X on my system. I do no have the rights to install putty. Is there any other way?
One of my friend advised me to use ftp of reflections. when I ftp to the server I do not see the folders(I need to copy the files to) on the servers. I see a complete set of new folders. But, when I login through SSH2 I can see the folders on the server(where I need to move the file) Smilie

Any advise guysSmilie
