Can you send the steps which you are following ??

here are the steps....

1 - get the file to AIX box where file name with 'Sample.zip' logging into Windows box with sftp.
2 - trying to unzip the Sample.zip in AIX box using unzip command.

but getting the error which i mentioned earlier.

I have a question, in case if i get the files from windows to Sun box and then i SCP the zip file to AIX box, if i try to Unzip the file in AIX will it allow or not?

gunzip does not work on zip files.

See this: man gunzip

You need to either (1) take the file to a windows platform and unzip it first, then transfer. Or, (2) unzip it on your windows platform and then compress it with a windows version of gunzip; or (3) install a different utility on your AIX box.

I suggest you download and install this on your AIX box:
