I need to create a script that based on the creation time,
if the file is older then 5 minutes then execute some stuff, if not exit.
I thought to get the creation time and minutes like this.

I wanted to send an email to the client whenever there is failed record created in a /feed/HR-76/failed folder after processing of feed file.

Hello,
date --date '-60 min ago' +'%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S,%3N'
Above command gives the date and time minus 60 minutes
but the problem i am facing is, i do not want to hardcode the value 60
it is stored in a variable var=60
now if i run below command , i get error

Hi guys thanks for the help for my previous posts.Now i have a requirement that i download a XMl file which has UTC time stamp.I need to convert UTC time into Unix server timezone.

My server time is in EDT. And i am sending automated mails from that server in which i need to display the current date time as per IST (GMT+5:30). Please advice how to display the date time as per IST.

Hi,
I want to add some hours and minutes to the current date. For example, if the current date is "July 16, 2012 15:20", i want to add 5 hours 30 minutes to "July 16, 2012 00:00" not to "July 16, 2012 15:20". Please help.

Hi,
Time till when the application should run is indicated in a file. First line is hour and second line is minute.
file:
10
55
Means my application should run till 10:55.
Now in a shell script, i am trying to make that logic but with no luck.

I'm using k-shell in unix and I want to create a file with the current system time - 60 minutes. I know I can use touch to create the file, but I'm having trouble specifying how tell it to use the current time less 60 minutes. Any ideas??? (4 Replies)

NAME
acctcms - command summary from process accounting records
SYNOPSIS
/usr/lib/acct/acctcms [-a [-o] [-p]] [-c] [-j] [-n] [-s]
[-t] filename...
DESCRIPTION
acctcms reads one or more filenames, normally in the form described in acct.h(3HEAD). It adds all records for processes that executed iden-
tically named commands, sorts them, and writes them to the standard output, normally using an internal summary format.
OPTIONS
-a Print output in ASCII rather than in the internal summary format. The output includes command name, number of times executed, total
kcore-minutes, total CPU minutes, total real minutes, mean size (in K), mean CPU minutes per invocation, "hog factor," characters
transferred, and blocks read and written, as in acctcom(1). Output is normally sorted by total kcore-minutes.
Use the following options only with the -a option:
-o Output a (non-prime) offshift-time-only command summary.
-p Output a prime-time-only command summary.
When -o and -p are used together, a combination prime-time and non-prime-time report is produced. All the output summaries are total
usage except number of times executed, CPU minutes, and real minutes, which are split into prime and non-prime.
-c Sort by total CPU time, rather than total kcore-minutes.
-j Combine all commands invoked only once under "***other".
-n Sort by number of command invocations.
-s Any file names encountered hereafter are already in internal summary format.
-t Process all records as total accounting records. The default internal summary format splits each field into prime and non-prime-time
parts. This option combines the prime and non-prime time parts into a single field that is the total of both, and provides upward
compatibility with old style acctcms internal summary format records.
EXAMPLES
Example 1 Using the acctcms command.
A typical sequence for performing daily command accounting and for maintaining a running total is:
example% acctcms filename ... > today
example% cp total previoustotal
example% acctcms -s today previoustotal > total
example% acctcms -a -s today
