UNIX for Advanced & Expert Users

I use an ERP system that we have setup print drivers to handle printing from inside the application to different printers. We have a new printer that keeps requesting tray 3 when we want it to request tray 1.
My init statement:

E&l4H is what we've used on other printers. I found notes that said l1 is for tray two but can't find information on setting tray 1. Anyone know the tray commands in a print driver? I tried l1 but it did nothing at all. No output and no message to the printer display menu.

What I have:
# put '\E&lZh' to initpr line to make Tray 2 active
# where Z= tray #: 1 = Tray 2 , 4= tray 1, 5 =tray3

If you leave out the tray selection the printer uses the default tray - however that is set. Tray 1 can be set as the default tray in the printer setup menu - the only way I know.

In the meantime, got two peices of information from my vendors.
I guess the tray deisgnation is different for hp5 and hp4 drivers.
But then the printer tech support told me I should be using hp8100 driver.
So far no luck on finding that for unix.
Its always something!
