Whats the difference between mail and mailx?
I'm trying to troubleshoot a problem where I can send mail from server A with this `echo $MESSAGE | mail -s "$SUBJECT" -r $FROM $RECIPIENTS` command but executing the same command from server B throws me this error (Both servers are RHEL)

If someone sent me an email using mail, sendmail, or mailx would there be some supporting logs? I am unfamiliar w/ SunOS and looked in /var/log/syslog and /var/mail but didn't find anything matching my name. I am Trying to install Oracle virtual box.But it is giving me some error message.Unable to resolve dependencies for some packages selected for installation.Missing dependencies libSDL-1.2.so.0 is needed by pacakage virtual box 4.1

I have a Solaris 10 Sparc box that has suddenly stopped allowing users to ssh into the box. I've connected a laptop and can access the box as root using a serial connector. While performing the command svcs -xv, this is my output:

I have an ancient SunOS 5.6 and I have to backup all the data onto it. I have tried connecting a tape drive but it does not boot up (something to do with its SCSI configuration I guess) when I do.

I got a small tiny problem of not remambering how this worked.
I get when I mail to a non existing mailbox I get a return failer to nobody@domain.bla wich will end up in root@domain.bla

Hi Friends,
I'm new to Unix. I have a fbackup step like
/bin/nice /etc/fbackup -f /dev/rmt/0m -i / -I /opt/monitrol/tmp/Index.full
2 > /var/adm/error.log
the errors for this step is redirected to a log file. How can I make to trigger mails when error occurs.

The OpenSolaris version is 2008.11.

It is running ZFS but I know nothing about ZFS.
