How can i unzip .gz extension file?
I have pulled a .gz file from UNIX to window. Is there way to unzip UNIX based file on window?

you didnt mention about the unzip tool you use in windows,

you can very well pull the file from unix to windows and unzip with the common
WinZip or WinRar... that would do !!!

Sorry i am using winzip but we i try to open the file it say

"Invalid Compressed Data - unable to inflate"

I am not very sure of this,

Could be compression of the source file was not completed properly or missing compression header information Smilie Smilie Smilie !!!

Can you try gunzip on unix machine itself and see if it extracts fine..This will tell you if it was packed correctly or not..

You may want to try packit with tar on unix and winzip/winrar on Windows then

Hammer & Screwdriver Ascii VS Binary transfer
Well if someone stumbles upon the same problem, yes it works if you take a .gz and transport it to a Windows machine, BUT you have to transfer it in a binary format... If you are using ASCII it will not work. For example with Hummingbird I switch between BIN and ASCII to make sure the transfer is in the suitable format.

if u r downloading the file from Unix servers and the file size is larger , i guess u could nt open this file .as my previous knowledge , please follow this procedure it might be helpful . gzip filename.gz file server to local server . it will be extracted to local server . u can able to view the document. or after downloading . or download the file using ftp and extract it . it will be work . if u r downloading the directly from server it might n't be downloaded properly .
