RM command

Hi,

I am facing an issue with RM command. when i run this command in unix it gets processed successfully. but when i use this same command in informatica it throws an error as "stderr ...."

My question here is what are the possible reasons for an rm command to fail when the syntax is perfect. i mean like dose some space is required or something like that.

Well you havent given the exact error message that was displayed so for us its a bit tough...
What were you trying to remove?

the code is just an rm command as explained below.

rm filename.log

the process goes like this:
first we remove the file.
then we move a temp file with the same name.

ex

rm filename.log
mv tempfilename.log filename.log

the code stops at rm filename.log

the main reason to ask this question is to find out what goes behind the seen when we run the rm command

Since its a log file you may not be the owner (informatica?) and worse it may be open (STDERR...)
One way of knowing if its informatica stoping you is to stop the application and try to remove the file...

Are you providing the files full path?
Are you passing the file name directly or through variable?
if it is rm ${file}, the reason could be the '$'. You need to escape the '$'
