Submitting jobs remotely...Experts help reqd

Is there any way I can submit a job to a remote machine and return immediately without withing for the job to finish?

What I mean is this...using rsh I can submit a job to a remote machine like this:

rsh remotemac1 job.sh

But this doesn't return untill the job has finished and as a consequence, it uses and hence, blocks 2 sockets during this time.

I don't want that to happen...

My ideal command should submit the job in the remote machine and close off all association with the remote job...There shd not be any stdout/err connectivity. Is it possible any way in UNIx?

No...justing running it in bg doesn't solve the problem.

Actually, when rsh runs, it uses to sockets in the system for stdout/err/in files. And my system is running out o sockets...so, I want a way by which jobs are just submitted in the remote machine and after submitting, my cmd (rsh) should close all association with the remote cmd (my_bacth_job.pl) i.e. rsh should release all sockets immediately after submittion without bothering about stdout/stderr.

Hi,

Use a script on remote such that it calls another scipt on remote machine with nohup <scriptname-abspath>.
