Issues with dtappgather
Hi All,

I running Solaris 5.9. My machine was running like snail; so I need top and there were lots of dtappgather proccesses running chewing up the memory. I killed them manually (kill -9 <pid>). However they restart a few hours again.

So what is dtappgather, and how do I stop it restarting?

its a security vulnerability with files created with permission

but there are so many commercial patches available for this dtappgather program

but before installing the patch for the program check if the setuid bit for dtappgather program is turned off ( but this would affect only the users who have been recently created and not yet logged in CDE )

rest i dont think there could be any problem with the patch.
