script & issues with non-AIX commands
I need to capture lengthy screen puts and direct to .txt.

HTML Code:
Script command is started on Wed Aug 22 13:27:36 EDT 2012.
# qcp
sh: qcp:  not found.
An issue I have is that script command doesn't take non-AIX commands.
I need to run application-specific commands and capture the output in .txt.

Please advise.

The fact that the qcp command is not found is nothing to do with the script command.

If the qcp command works from you command prompt, try export PATH before executing script. As it probably does not work from the Command Prompt, please use the full hierarchial path to qcp rather than rely on $PATH.

If it still cannot be found, qcp (whatever that is?) does not exist on your system.

Please post what Operating System and version you are running and what Shell you are using.

Another possible reason would be that it is an application subcommand. I have already seen users enter "select * from ...." at the shell prompt and wonder why only errors are returned. "But i know the table to be there ....".

Describe more precisely what you want to do and what you tried to get it, then we might be able to help you with more direct and less general advice.
