Sun Cluster log rotation & compression
I currently have in root's crontab:
Code:
20 4 * * 0,3 /usr/cluster/lib/sc/newcleventlog /var/cluster/logs/eventlog
20 4 * * 0,3 /usr/cluster/lib/sc/newcleventlog /var/cluster/logs/DS
20 4 * * 0,3 /usr/cluster/lib/sc/newcleventlog /var/cluster/logs/commandlog

there is no man page on newcleventlog. I am trying to figure out if there is a way to compress the eventlogs through newcleventlog. Would there be a better way to to log rotation and compression for these 3 cluster logs.

newcleventlog ist just an ordinary shell script. You could make a copy of this file, say mynewcleventlog, and modify the function file_rotation according to your needs.
