Gathering data using SAR
Hi everyone,

I would like to ask if it is possible to gather SAR data on a specified time. let say yesterdays report, i want to get data at around 12PM and 5PM.

What Operating System and version are you running?
What Shell do you use?

Are you creating and saving the historic "sar" data using the "sa1" and "sa2" crons ?
If so, please post the crons.
The saved data would normally be in stored in /var/adm/sa as day files.

If you are not creating and saving the historic "sar" data there is no chance of seeing yesterday.

hi methyl, thanks for replying.

i have three servers running Suse, AIX and HP-UX, the 3 servers have running cron to gather sar data.

i was able to gather data from the previous records by using

sar -u -u -f sa.2011-02-01 > ~cwiggler/sar.2011-02-01.txt
