grep for a line in a file on multiple unix servers

Hi,

I need to grep(look) for a line in filename named /tmp/Test on all 90 unix servers. Without logging to each servers manually and grep'ing for the line, is there a way to pull this info in output file thru' the ksh/sh/bash script. Can someone pl. help to create this script for me?

Ex. Each server is having file /tmp/Test & I'm looking for line "this is testing" on each of these servers.(authorized_keys are already in place on these serves, so it wouldn't prompt me for password. I've already taken care of this)

Thanks in advance for your help.
Thx
Mike

Here is a sample.

i have asumed that the root user loging is used for the remote server and all the destinations are defoned in /etc/hosts file.

You can change these and define as per your requirement.like in staed of /etc/hosts you can use your own file where you give the ip of dest servers.

Code:
while read dest
do
host=`echo $dest | awk ' { print $2 } '`
ssh -n -l root $host ". ~/.profile >/dev/null 2>/dev/null; grep "this is testing" /tmp/Test "

if [ $? == 0 ]
then
print "match found in $host machine"
else
print "match not found "

fi

done < /etc/hosts

Quote:
ssh -n -l root $host ". ~/.profile >/dev/null 2>/dev/null; grep "this is testing" /tmp/Test "
Without testing it we need to escape some of the characters to stop the local shell eating them and to preserve the integrity of the command.

Code:
ssh -n -l root $host ". ~/.profile >/dev/null 2>/dev/null\; grep \"this is testing\" /tmp/Test "

Thanks. I'll try this and see whether this works or not for me.
