In ksh find out the timestamp of current date?
Normally we can use %s to find out the time in second since 1970.
But in my ksh, this format option is not available.

Example- date +%s
1268103151

above script command won't work in ksh. Can you guys provide its equivalent ?

If you are using ksh93, the syntax is

printf "%(%s)T"

For example

$ date
Tue Mar  9 09:57:53 EST 2010
$ printf "%(%s)T\n"
1268146579

# 4

If you don't have ksh93:
try
Code:
perl -e 'print time, "\n";'

date +%s does not work on Solaris 8 & 9 & 10, it has nothing to do with ksh88
