radio broadcasting

hi
I wanna make radio broadcasting from my web page. I am planning to use a linux server. I have no idea about how can I do Smilie I heard about RealPlayer can be used but ,unfortunatelly, I don't know how!
Any suggestions and advices are welcome....

you mean something like a streaming mp3 server? go to http://freshmeat.net and search for "shoutcast" or "icecast" .

actually if you can get it from its offical site. it is a winamp addon.
i used to run a shoutcast server about a year ago.

there was a couple of quirks to get it working but it was realitivly easy.

also, if you want users to be able to create their own playlist and play files on demand, there is an apache perl module by this guy : http://stein.cshl.org/

i use it for my own personal use only Smilie protected with .htaccess. its great!

i believe shoutcast already has the ability to play on demand content built in.

I am trying to write a client server chat program in C and am unsure as to how I would broadcast all the users IDs over the network. broadcasting failed 'su root'
