Question Multihome question...

I have a Linux RH8 box that has 2 nic cards in it and
each card has it's own public ip.

Here is the problem. I have Qmail running and when it sends out email, sometimes it sends using ip #1 and sometimes it sends as ip #2. I want it to always send as ip #1.

Would I handle this using a default route or would I handle this per application? (ie. lock qmail down to use ip #1, which I can't figure out how to do...)

Thanks in advance for any help.

try this

Use the smtproutes control file. It's described in the qmail-remote manpage, look for heaven.af.mil there.

and here is a perfect website, which will make you a Qmail guru in no time.
