Power Read/update windows registry using UNIX script
Hi,

I have a requirement where in to read the registry value of a windows NT based system from a AIX server which should be automatic. For eg. the script should connect to the Win NT system, read the registry as specified on the input and display the output on the AIX screen?

Eg. <script name> <remote machine IP address running on win nt> <registry path> <key>

How to achieve this? Please suggest.

You'll need to have something running on the Windows computer to accept and interpret commands from the AIX server. AIX won't be able to do it by itself.

I would try to get AIX to trigger a PowerShell script on the Windows server that places the outcome on the AIX server. Or were you referring to an actual Fred Flintstone NT system?

Thanks for your replies, to be more clear, for eg we have 1000 Windows NT OS based systems each connected to 1000 unix machines and all unix machines connecetd to one central AIX server. Now, I would need to get the registry value of once specific key across all the 1000 NT based systems on to the central AIX server. We have the process to run it on all 1000 systems but what to run to get the registry value is the issue in my case!

PS. We currently have a remote 'dir' process which can connect to each NT system from unix machine and execute the dir, display directory info on the unix screen but couldn't find the programmer around for help.
