efficient repace

some of the data i receive has been typed in manually due to which there are often places where i find 8 instead of ( and the incorrect use of case [like YoGa instead of Yoga]
what according to you is the best way to correct such data.
The data has around 20,000 records.
The value i want to change is in the 4th field.
What is the best way to go about doing this?

Sample data:
I, hope someone, helps me, out with, this 26 times 8ASAP)
....
...
..
I, 4563456, someone,helps me, out with, this 92 times 8ASAP)
I, hope someone,6357456, out with, this15 times 8ASAP)

Can't you just use sed.

quick fix for the '8' vs. '(' issue :
Code:
sed "s/8ASAP/(ASAP/" < input > output

good luck, and success !
