geforce 4 and Xwin in BSD

Has anyone had any luck in using a newer Geforce card in BSD? I dont really care about 3d accel as of now, just trying to get X up with a standard 1024x768 display would be nice Smilie

Never mind, just read on web that nvidea is planning on making drivers for fbsd now that the latest linux ones are finished! =)

I was able to get my nVidia GEForce3 Ti 200 working under X with 2D acceleration using the provided drivers with XFree86 4.x.x (don't remember the version that ships with FreeBSD 4.6 right at the moment).

That is gonna be great! Hopefully they will include full OpenGL support. That would be most awesome!

I know about nVidia cards that they're workin' fine under Linux, BUT they're not supported by their maker on fbsd, perhaps m$ sells a little bit bigger number of licenses :-) And, when Linux's popularity has grow too much, they decided that a binary could be enough for the users of one variant in the unix world. At this time I don't use a nVidia graphics card, and I do not intend to do so. Thanks to developers from XFree, we can see something on our X displays using the "nv" driver, and i'm tired to wait nVidia to release a driver for everybody. Long live to: ATI, Matrox, and even SiS :-) [note: i use a Matrox graphics card, and it works great: agp 2-4x, DRI, DRM, OpenGL, perhaps D3D - emulated- if i'll try a little bit :-)]
