A Flurry of Project Monterey Press Releases from 1998-1999
In connection with completing our records on Groklaw, we've set up a permanent page for our coverage of Project Monterey, a major theme in the SCO v. IBM litigation. Here are some press releases to add to our collection, which confirm all that we already knew or suspected about Project Monterey.
Why does it matter now? Because eventually, the SCO v. IBM litigation will ramp up again, after the SCO bankruptcy is over, and SCO claims that some of its Project Monterey claims survived the decision in SCO v. Novell that Novell retained the UNIX and UnixWare copyrights in the Novell/Santa Cruz deal in 1995. IBM denies that any of SCO's Project Monterey claims survive. You can fully trace both sides' positions on our new permanent Project Monterey page. It's also worth doing so as to complete and preserve the historical record, which has already partially 'disappeared'.

NAME

       gdmthemetester - GDM Theme Test Utility

SYNOPSIS

       gdmthemetester environment theme

DESCRIPTION

       gdmthemetester enables you to view a theme outside GDM. This is useful to test or view themes. gdmthemetester requires that the system sup-
       port gdmXnest. Note that themes can display differently depending on the "Show mode" of the theme. You can view	the  themes  in  different
       modes by specifying the environment option.

OPTIONS

       The following options are supported:

       environment     Specifies the mode. The following values are valid:

		       console

			   Console mode

		       console-timed

			   Console non-flexi mode

		       flexi

			   Flexi mode

		       remote-flexi

			   Remote (XDMCP) and flexi mode

		       xdmcp

			   Remote (XDMCP) mode

       theme	       Either the path name or the name of a theme to view.

ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES

       See environ(5) for descriptions of the following environment variables:

       XNESTSIZE	       Can be set to widthxheight to test the  theme at a specific resolution. For example, 800x600.

       The following files are used by this application:

       /usr/bin/gdmthemetester Executable for GDM Theme Test Utility
