Question procmail configuration pronblem?

Hi,

I am using "procmail" for triggering an application job which is doing some database operations. The Home directory for my application script has the permissions 2771 which is a policy recommendation.

As we know procmail won't accept it's default configuration file $HOME/.procmailrc if it or the directory it exists has group writable permissions.

I wont change the permissions because the audit will set it back automatically.

Can anyopne help me to handle this situation? Is there any way to set the configuration file procmail looks to a different one(ie,in a different directory apart from the Home directory)

With Regards

You'd have to recompile Procmail either way. You can make it accept group-writable directories with a simple compile-time configuration directive, so this is not a challenging task (provided you know how to compile software from source in the first place).

If you are root, you could also simply put something in your /etc/procmailrc or in the MTA configuration to make Procmail read a different recipe file.
