Can any body give me the script to start postgre SQL 8.3.1 when boot linux?

Look at the file contrib/start-scripts/linux in the PostgreSQL source distribution.

Yes , under contrib folder , and under start-scripts folder , there are 3 flavors
linux, freebsd, osx
