startx not working for 8.04.4

Hi,

I am running Ubuntu 8.04.4 on a Sun Blade 1000 SPARC. I installed both kubuntu and xubuntu in attempt to load a gui onto the machine. Both fail when trying to start them.

When I use startx I get the following error:

(EE) Failed to laod module "-esuncreator3dframebufferorssimilar(sunw,501-4788)xfree86sunffb" (module does not exist, 0)

(EE) No drivers available

I fairly sure i have an XVR-1000 graphics card. I looked around on the Oracle web site "http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/indexes/downloads/index.html" and could find a driver to download.

Not sure where to move from here. These Sun Blades seem more trouble then they are worth.

Any Idea?
