Google "10.04 VPN plugin failed: 1" and you'll get some results, some say that you need to uncheck "available to all users" ... Smilie

Update:

VPN connection using Network Manager didn't work. I copied over a working vpnc cisco.conf file from a colleague and used cli to connect. Worked fine.

Yep,
now for me I doesn't work either (just installed the latest Ubuntu on my new notebook).

I found a workaround Smilie

create vpn connection/import profile -> Available for All Users should be unchecked -> kill NetworkManager (it gets automatically restarted).

After that, when you try to connect, you'll see the password prompt.
