I think SuSE has KDE installed by default (sorry I'm an ex-user of SuSE)?

Otherwise, if you have set up SuSE and can boot into it, log on as root and run "yast". You will be able to select the KDE packages to install.

Try typing
Quote:
startx
from the command line.... anything happen?

when you installed suse, what packages did you select? if all you have is a command line, type
'yast'

at the command line. and then from there go to the package manager and select the packages for kde. all dependencies will be checked automatically. install everything and you will be good to go from there.

If startx doesnt work, then you have to configure the X server, use the commands sax or sax2 to do this.

make sure you actually have installed Xf86.
