Java suSe-GUI

Hi,
I'm very new to Linux world Smilie
I have installed openSuSe11 version form Aug-220 PCQuest.
I followed the GUI installation and completed well.
System configuarion :
Intel Pentum (D) Processor,
1GM RAM
2 HHDs
(1) SATA 120 GB- Vista+XP)
(2) Seagate 20 GB - openSUSE

After the installation I could see the GUI and can see all other desktop applications with Mouse clicks..
But on restarting and booting from HDD (2) I can't load the suse GUI.
"Initializung Graphics...." then coming to prompt GRUB>
There very limitted comands when I pres 'TAB' key.

How can I get the GUI interface of suse?

Plse help...Anything I missed Smilie?
Thanks-Krishna

Well, there is a problem, as you have not even loaded the operating system. Grub is just the boot loader code. You may want to debug why it is going to grub, but it would be simpler to boot from your CD/DVD and search for readable disks and partitions. OpenSUSE even has a utility to fix common problems that can be run automatically for this.

However, I would recommend that you post this in the opensuse forums:

Also, you probably loaded grub on the wrong disk. You should install grub on the first disk, and then just have it load the root volume on the 2nd disk. Grub can boot XP/Vista and Linux without issue. In case you don't like SUSE, you can have it restore the boot records you had before.

Hi Marks,
Thanks for the reply.
Just explain mor eon my experience.
As I told I have 2 HDDs , one with XP+ and Vista another one is openSUSE installed. While booting I press F10 and get the booting option with
1.Floppy
2.DVD
3.HDD 1 (Vist + XP)
4.HDD 2 (OpenSuse)

When I choose the option 4,
it starts as
"GRUB loading Stage 2 ..
Initializing gfx code ..."
Then stops there for long time,...

Hope these info gaves some more idea to the issue,
Thanks

I would recommend you boot from the suse CD and run one of the automated repair tools
