which xml files are you missing??

you can work with attempting to rebuild the configurations with
Code:
zonecfg -z zone1 export -f zone.cfg

from there... you can use the SUNWdefault.xml file to help you along.

nope, doesnt seem to work..see below...

root@xxxxx[113] > pwd
/etc/zones
root@xxxxx [110] > rm xcmp002z.xml
root@xxxxx [111] > zonecfg -z xcmp002z export -f xcmp002z.cfg
xcmp002z: No such zone configured
root@xxxxx [112] > zonecfg -z xcmp002z
xcmp002z: No such zone configured
Use 'create' to begin configuring a new zone.
zonecfg:xcmp002z> exit

i'm just a bit confused as to why you want to remove that file? maybe if i understood what your motive behind this is for, i could help out a bit more.

anyway, xcmp002z.xml is your configuration file for your zone. so when you do the `zonecfg -z xcmp002z info`, its reading that xml file. you kill that xml file you kill your zone.

.
its not that i want to remove the file. its more of a case of knowing if the worst happened, and the file was removed by accident, and there were no backups would there be a way to recreate it ?

its more of a case of trying to understand what options are there if this file was removed. More for my own education.
