Cheap for a reason my friend. They probably come with a free toaster (Ironic AND a movie reference! Woohoo!).

Call Sun, tell them what you need, what you have, and what you expect. They will be able to either find the right server for you or tell you they don't have what you're looking for.

I suggest you avoid X2100, it doesn't even have a redundant power supply. I've seen a lot of them in production and they work fine, but I really don't recommend using them.

We are not alone.

EOL or not, I'll take a V240 over a X2200 any day.

The problem I'm having as Sun service, is that most of the customers who purchase Sun's X86 usually run Windows, and we're not very comfortable supporting Windows based platforms, which adds another level of reluctance.

I think Sun will do something about it, they're planning good training programs for support personnel so they can provide better service for the X86
