I'm in the middle of trying to aggregate the 4 ports on a GigaSwift NIC installed in a v490. I think heading down the right track; updating ce drivers, installing Sun Trunking 1.3 and patching.. etc.
While doing this i noticed that the 32bit drivers for this NIC are installed instead of the 64bit drivers:
I only have one solaris 10 server on sparc hardware and only a test VM x86 version, so i have nothing to compare this to. Our Solaris 9 servers show both packages installed.
I when i tried to download the GigaSwift Ethernet drivers from Sun i dont see a solaris 10 version...
I couldnt find any documentation that said it was changed in solaris 10. Is this even something to worry about? We have had no problems in the past but this is one of my netbackup media servers and the more performance i can get out of it the better (assuming the 64bit drivers would increase performance).
Also, am i going down the right track to try and load balance these ports?
Thanks for any responses, im still kind of a newby to solaris.

I know that Sun make s a version of Solaris for Sparc platforms and also an x86 (Intel/AMD) release of Solaris. Can an application that runs on Solaris/Sparc also run on a PC running the x86 release of Solaris? Would a different release be required or any re-compling of the application?
