Solaris

well it works now but i trying to install the server solaris (having problems with that now grrrr)

it after spending ages typing all the ips and what not in it errors by saying unrecongnised disk unformatted

then it just cancles the instilation does not help with it

any idea how i can format the disk or do i need a new one (would any old hard drive new work?)

its ide and has room for 2 channels

Can you post a link to a photo of a box similiar to yours? I don't have the foggiest idea of what you have.

But try booting like this:
boot cdrom -s

And once you get to the unix prompt, try to run format.

I have never seen anything like that. I still have no idea what it is. But format should complain if a drive is dead, not just seg fault like that.

the best bet might be to go with a new drive.

hey i got a new drive and installed it but one prob

its asking for a login now during the login i only said a password what is it?
