Java Will creating symbolic links affect users
Hi,

I have a quick question with regards to creating symbolic links. Would creating a symbolic link from one directory to a file in another cause any issues for users that are currently logged into the box. I don't believe it will unless they are using the file in question, but I would like confirmation from a more experienced user before I create the link.

If someone has a file open, your actions will not affect their process.
When that person closes the file and then reopens it, then the change takes effect.
Make sure permissions are identical for the current directory & parent directory of the linked-to file and the file itself or you will break a lot of things. Ditto the symlink.
