Hi,

a) How to see no. of samba users currently logged in the system & from which termainal ????

b) how to know number of samba users created for a system ( apart from seeing in the conf file)??Smilie

samba users are not logged in via a terminal. there should be a process for each samba user in your process list.

try a "ps -ef | grep smbd | wc -l" this should give you the number of sessions +1 session for the smbd itself.

# smbstatus -v

(Is a better command to use for connected in users)

# cat /etc/samba/smbpasswd

(Should show you the users but this depends on how samba has been configured. )

when I type smbclient \\\\MYSERVER\\someuser at the prompt, it asks me to log in with the password for that user, and when I put it in, it says NT_USER_LOGIN_FAILURE eveyrtime, while at the linux terminal.
