Installing StorageWorks DAT 40 on x86 Solaris 10

I am looking for this document UNIX Configuration Guide on the HP StorageWorks Tape.

I need a procedure to install StorageWorks DAT 40 internal tape drive C5668A.

Looking at the Solaris 10 HCL (Hardware Compatibility List) on BigAdmin, it does not appear that the C5668A is supported. However that does not mean that it will not work in some fashion. I suggest you install the DAT drive, reboot and type "prtconf -pv" to see if Solaris sees the DAT drive.

attach the drive and perform a reconfiguration boot. do mt stat to see if it detects. If not we'll see if there's any driver issues..

I am using generic x86 server and I can not access ok prompt, I think this is a issue of driver. When I check the status of tape solaris does not see it I also check the st.conf file there is configuration for HP tape drive.

Need your help.

Anyway, you need not be at the ok prompt to do a reconfig boot. Under root / dir, touch a file named "reconfigure". Then perform an init 6 or better still , init 5 first, tyhen power up your server again.
