You may, anyhow, want to try this:

luxadm -e forcelip /dev/cfg/c[controller_number]

Do this for all controllers that have external devices attached. Then try your cfgadm command again.

It should not. As far as the devices are properly connected using mpxio and you issue this command one by one.

You need to make sure that at least one path is online and active.

The problem is that you cannot really state if your paths are ok as long as the cfgadm -alo showFCP_dev command does not work.

Does your storage system support active/active (like HDS 9990) path configuration or active/standby only?

Did you already check for the SAN packages being completely installed?

all this seem like to much trouble, i think i will be requesting permission to reboot the server.
