Solaris 5.9.04 VS 5.9.05

Hi all,

I have installed solaris 5.9.05 on a v210 server, there are no problems with the sever and the var/adm/messages are clean.

My problem is that when I run fsck (single user mode) I get :

** /dev/md/dsk/d0
** Currently Mounted on /
** Phase 1 - Check Blocks and Sizes
** Phase 2 - Check Pathnames
** Phase 3a - Check Connectivity
** Phase 3b - Verify Shadows/ACLs
** Phase 4 - Check Reference Counts
** Phase 5 - Check Cylinder Groups
FILESYSTEM MAY STILL BE INCONSISTENT.
91493 files, 2064652 used, 10320272 free (72136 frags, 1281017 blocks, 0.6% fragmentation)
***** FILE SYSTEM IS BAD *****

When i run FSCk on a server with solaris 5.9.04 ,there are no errors.

I have found out that on all the 5.9.05 servers I get the same error.

What can cause this kind of problem?

Thanks,
Yuval

Versions got nothingto do with filesystems errors And wy would you want to run fsck for no reason? filesyste checks produces inconsistency/corruption/bad sectors errors etc.. In your data centre, assuming you have 10 servers having same OS release and patch evel, does not mean all of them will cause same issues. This is a norm. And for now, think abt performing a clean filesystem chck and to bring up the system Smilie
