slow access

We had a network hiccup several weeks back and ever since access to my Ultra 10 Solaris machine has been very slow from within the network but very fast when access from outside the local network. Any ideas as to what can cause this?

provide us with the following output:
uname -a
ifconfig -a
netstat -rn
cat /etc/defaultrouter
cat /etc/netmasks
cat /etc/hosts
cat /etc/inet/ipnodes
ping <gateway>

Sorry some of what you request does not exist on our system. However I can confirm that nothing changed there and I have 2 of these machines on the network. Our problem started with a network switch failure and since it has been repaired access to the Sun machines from within our local network is slow but outside is very good.

Bro, what do you mean? If you're running solaris, you CAN run those commands..

Did you check the /etc/resolve.conf file? How is your nameservers ordered? I need those info in order to figure out what could be wrong. Without any, its hard.

Sorry I was looking for files and some exist as some do not. Some of what you request I cannot supply due to security issues. However it was a windows network that had issue. Our sun machines did not change whatsoever. Does this make sense? I will get you what I can.

Then its a network problem. You just need to verify that your SUN's duplex/speed settings are in tact. On the switch end, you will have to check with your network guys if the VLAN settings had been affected during the "hiccups".. thats it dude. I was thinking that your problem was on your SUN workstation. Its clear now that its a network issue, not on the system itself
