Mirro meaning and test

Problem:
i have two HDD one on primary SCSI port and the second one on the secondary SCSI port and i make mirror with the following commands:
dft format_disk esp1 scsi3
dft create_sys
dft mirror_sys

and the mirror operation successfully finished but when i rebooting the station with only one HDD which on secondary SCSI bus "to test mirror sytem healty" and turn off the HDD which on primary SCSI bus the booting system crash and there is no system, SO i tried to open the primary one and rebooting the station again i found the booting system crash also on primary one and there is no system.
My Questions is:
1-what is the mean of mirror system?
2-is this mirroring command is true or false?
3-is this test is right or not? if not what is the right one?
thanks Smilie
