First posting Help :ULTRA 10 UltraSPARC-IIi 360MHZ

I have a problem with ULTRA 10. It does not boot and just stops at this prompt.

OpenBoot 3.19, 256 MB...


Boot device:disk:a File and args:

download solaris and try to install it.

I kept 'solaris 2.6 software' in cd and restarted. it does not take it.

CD details:
Solaris 2.6 software
SPARC Platform Edition
SMCC Server Configuration.

I mean when restarted after keeping the CD in it does not read. Also no response for any keys.

at ok prompt enter "boot cdrom"....

read manuals at http://docs.sun.com its always good to learn a little by reading!

sincere thanks. Actually I read some of the docuemnts. Here is the sequence it did.

1. STOP A
2. at ok prompt entered 'boot CDROM'

LED on CDROM drive blinked three times and it stuck again with below messages.

/pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/cdrom@2,0:f File and args:

3. It does not respond to any key including 'STOP A'

correctin: CDROM = cdrom
