HP DL380 G3 vs Solaris 10

1) Does anyone know IF HP Proliant DL380 G3 is compatible to install Solaris 10 - as whenever I tried to install, it gives an error saying 'No disk found' after keying in date/time etc.

2) I found somewhere that text installation will be able to fix it - What is text installation?

Thank you

Solaris 10 will run fine on a DL380.
You have to load some drivers for the disk controller. I don't have the full details handy now, but I can grab them for you from work tomorrow.

As previous poster stated, you need to install drivers (both for smartarray and probably network).

Thank you- Looks like, I must have a floppy Driver necessarily to download and install the driver as per HP ProLiant DL380 G3 Server series- HP Solaris Driver Update Diskette (DU) for Solaris 9 x86 Platform Edition - HP Business Support Center

But, what can be done IF the machine does not have a floppy Drive?

Also, I see the driver named installer file is CPQary3-x.yy-solaris10.i386.tar.gz as per the given links of .pdf - Where do I find that tar file?

The drivers comes as ISO images as well so you can mount them using the ILO (suppose you have ILO access for your DL380?)

It worked for me by mounting the ISO as a CD anyway.
