sun 420r hme0 not responding

I have a 420r server it boots up all of the network settings are correct, however the machines network connection is not working. Cant ping anything from it, cant ping it from another machine on the network.

If I ping 127.0.0.1 it says alive.

Is there a chance the network card has been disabled?

or is a service not started?

Thanks

when did this last work?

what does ifconfig -au show?

what does ifconfig -a show?

what does dmesg|grep hme show?

Has the physical cabling and switch/port been verified?

127.0.0.1 is the loop back interface! as mentioned above post the output of "ifconfig -a". if you run solaris 10 also post the output of "dladm show-dev" and "dladm show-link".
