TAR error
When I tried to decompress using TAR the following error was popped up..
tar: blocksize = 0
..Can anyone tell me wht this means and how to rectify this error...

I have zipped 2 text files.. and was able to creat ethe tar file..so it mus be unzipped ..rt even if the text files are empty..

Hi,
if you use the standard installation of solaris you have only the tar and the gzip command!

So you told me that you gzip two txt files.
And then you tar the two gzip files inside one tar archive.

Is this correct?

Or you tar the two files to one file and then you gzip it.

Please give us more information!

Use the command
file <your file>

strings <your file> | more # Only the first 20 lines!

and the command you try to untar the file!
