Routing problem of Solaris

Hi,

I got problem of Sun Solaris 8 routing.

IP of SunA is 10.16.64.164, and have routing table:

10.16.64.0 10.16.64.164 U 1 19236 bge1
10.6.0.0 10.6.0.3 U 1 16534 bge0
224.0.0.0 10.6.0.3 U 1 0 bge0
default 10.16.64.1 UG 1 44741
127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1 UH 1 457 lo0

Another SunB server is 10.24.64.160. From SunA traceroute to SunB, packet was sent to 10.16.64.3 instead of 10.16.64.1.

Additionally, this status is not stable. It means some time SunA sends packet to 10.16.64.1 and others, it sends to 10.16.64.3.

Appreciate all reply.

Thanks,

What subnet masks are you using?
# 3
Old 08-07-2007
subnet is 255.255.252.0
# 4

255.255.255.252
A2 ip address can only have 4 octets with a grand total of 32 bits and no more!

therefore and ip address like 255.255.225.252.0 is not a llegitimate address as it 40 bytes making it illagitiament.
