oh I do not see anything about bus. What I see is CPU, IO Devices, Memory Configuration. In addition, what I have is an 8-disk D1000. On the Option Switch at the back. I set it to

1 - down
2 - down
3 - up
4 - down
5 - down

I am not sure if that is the right setting or if that has anything to do with the current issue that I have?

look at the documentation for the d1000....

docs.sun.com an sunsolve.sun.com

but without the right scsi hba you won't see your d1000!

Oh wait a minute, should I do the prtdiag on the D1000 itself or one of the two hosts? I will look into the documentation.

So what i did was to connect each of the SCSI cable from the D1000 to the SCSI connector located next to the parallel connector just below the two serial connectors. I am trying to figure out if that was the right connector that I was supposed to connect the cables to or if I have to install a separate PCI card with SCSI connectors. The SCSI connector is an ULTRA SCSI, 68-pin. I found a diagram from document 816-3216-10, p. 4 found in

Sun Microsystems: Sun Blade 2000 Workstation

i told you allready in the first post:
you need a hvd scsi controller! the onboard controller is a se scsi controller! the onboard controller will NOT work with a d1000!
